About Me
Hello and Sawasdee Ka! I am Surachanee Bunnag Murray, but friends and family call me "Nong." I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. I attended Bangkok University and earned a degree in Mass Communications. I then travelled to the U.S. to attend the English Language Program at Centenary College of Louisiana. It was there that I met my husband, Mark. We were married in Bangkok, but we have been living in Florida, USA for many years. I love my adopted country very much, but I am still extremely proud to be Thai.
As for my art, I am entirely self-taught. I find inspiration in all things feminine, mysterious, and magical. Over the years I have dabbled with oil paints, watercolor, and pastels...but I always come back to my first love, color pencils. I especially love to draw fairies, moon-goddesses, mermaids, dancers, and women in costume, I also enjoy dreaming up intricate dress designs. My other interests are reading, travelling, social media, eating all sorts of yummy Asian food, and last but not least...SHOPPING!
